Who will stand against cell phone-using motorists?

Mar 24, 2003 --

HOW MANY people must be killed, injured, or maimed for life because an inattentive and distracted motorist was talking on a cell phone while driving, before our government takes any action?

Isn't it bad enough that we have to share the roads with drivers who are eating, drinking, smoking, reading, putting on make-up, shaving or intoxicated, while driving? Not to mention the road rage idiots! Must responsible drivers now tolerate this additional danger from cell phone using motorists?

Everyone who drives is now in more danger because of those who drive and talk on a cell phone, which is also a potential health hazard for the individual who uses one. (Watch for the possible increase in brain tumors in the next 20 to 30 years)

Several counties and states have already outlawed cell phone use by motorists while operating a motor vehicle. This new electronic device poses an additional driving hazard on our city, county, and state roads for all of us!

I cannot agree with you more! Please let me know if there is any pending legislation or activity to curb this dangerous new obsession with cell-phones and its negative impact on society. We seem to be losing more and more of our humaness, (not to mention common decency), with every passing day. I could go on and on, but, frankly just thinking of cell-phone abuse raises my blood pressure.
