Seattle school renovation will open to bidding
Jan 20, 2003 --
The Seattle PI reports:
The Seattle School Board agreed (January 19) to put the planned renovation of a South End school out to bid, but warned parents that potential school closures could mean the project does not proceed.
Seattle Public Schools has been working with staff and parents since September 2003 on a design for Maple Elementary, a process that has already cost about $650,000 of the project's $6 million budget. Renovation of the Beacon Hill school was scheduled to start in April and would replace the portables on the site with a building containing new classrooms, an auditorium and a cafeteria.
