Pete's Brings Calzones To Queen Anne Hill
Oct 09, 1998 --
Pete's Pizza has opened its second Seattle restaurant atop Queen Anne Hill at 1919 Queen Anne Ave.
The calzone they serve is the best this reviewer ever tasted. It has a soft yeasty crust, just getting crisp around the edges. And is stuffed with meat and cheese. Its a perfect dish for sharing, because its hard to eat one all by yourself.
The new restaurant has table service and an expanded menu with appetizers and specials.
Sean Curran who owns the stores with his partner Rob Angel said, "Our success comes primarily from calzones. Its who we are. These are not little dinky ones you get at most restaurants for $9.95. Ours is $5.95 and rarely are you not full after eating one."
The first Pete's in Seattle at 5301 Roosevely WAy NE opened in 1991 and is still thriving. The Queen Anne Pete's is open M-F, 11:30 am to 10pm, F-S 11:30 am to 11; and S, 4-10 pm.

I used to live up the road from your Roosevelt location, and I used to get into the Borderline to see you with fake I.D. I spent a lot of time at the Monkey pub, remember me? So glad to connect! E mail me for pics! Kim |

Pete's is the best ever! Bring back the one on Roosevelt. I was so sad to see it closed. I guess I will have to take the bus to Queen Anne. |
