Jun 28, 2000 -- A patron at a Fremont bar causes a disturbance on Saturday during the Fremont Fair. The bartender asks the man to move from the floor of the crowded establishment, where he is sitting. At this, the man replies, "You want to take a swing at me!" Then, according to the bartender and nearby witnesses, the man goes out of control and begins swinging and kicking at the bartender. They are still fighting when officers arrive, and the unruly patron is arrested...

At an Aurora Avenue North restaurant, a group of 10-15 people gathers on a Saturday evening to celebrate the birthday of their friend. The birthday girl presents her driver's license to the restaurant manager, who notes that it says she is 23 years old. The manager also notes, however, that the cake the group has brought says "19" on it. He overhears and observes other things that lead him to believe that the woman is not over age 21. He questions her, but her friends become loud and begin arguing with him. One man starts yelling and swearing. Eventually the man says, "I'll fucking kill you!" and as he leaves the restaurant he threatens to return and burn the place down. The man rides away on a blue motorcycle with temporary plates.

When officers arrive, the birthday girl is waiting to get her driver's license back. Officers run a check on her name and the information comes back matching that on her license. She says she really is 23 and that there was another person with the party who is turning 19. The manager believes her ID is false because two of her friends told him she was not over 21. He is worried that she or her friends may return and damage the building, so he is left with a case number...

A woman drives northbound on Lake City Way Northeast on a Saturday afternoon at 4:15 p.m. The driver of the car in front of her repeatedly brakes as if she is trying to get the victim's car to hit hers. When the suspect's car turns, the victim follows because she is headed that way, but then the suspect blocks the street with her car and gets out. The victim stops. The suspect approaches the victim and challenges her to throw the first punch. The victim gets out of her car and the suspect grabs her arm, causing a small scratch. The police report ends here...

A Ballard woman returns home late on a Saturday night/Sunday morning. As she parks her car, she notices that her neighbor, who had a yard sale that day, has put some items out on the parking strip, free for the taking. She puts down her backpack and purse next to her car and goes to take a look. While she is looking, a black Honda Civic pulls up next to her car. The passenger jumps out and grabs her bags, and the car drives away. Police are alerted but no signs of the suspect vehicle are found...

A wildlife worker calls police to a North Ballard location when he finds a pigeon with what appears to be a BB gun pellet injury to one wing. Nobody saw the shooting but two local kids report hearing what sounded like a pellet gun being fired up the street just as officers arrived. The officers visit the address indicated by the youngsters and find a dented soda can in the back yard. The residents inside admit they had just been shooting their paint ball gun in their back yard, but do not know about an injured bird. They show the officers their paint ball gun. The shooters are informed that discharging even a CO2-powered gun within city limits is illegal except at designated facilities. Since the bird's injuries do not seem consistent with the paint ball gun, the officers return to the wildlife worker and give him a case number. The pigeon is taken to a rehabilitation center with an uncertain prognosis, unable to fly. The helpful teens advise the officer that a paint ball gun can be loaded with objects other than paint balls...

A woman picks up the bag and tells witnesses, "I found this bag and I'll take it inside." A moment later the bag's owner approaches and asks, "Where's my bag?" The witnesses tell him what happened and he follows the woman down the street and gets her to come back to the community center with him. Police are called to the scene. Officers ask the woman about the camera and cell phone, which they find in her possession. She says that she found them in the ladies' room. When read her Miranda rights, she sticks to her story, and is arrested for felony theft...

A witness calls police to report a car prowl at an auto dealership on Lake City Way Northeast. He says two men entered the lot and went to a blue jeep at the rear of the lot. Several minutes later he saw one of them walk away southbound. As he is on the phone, he sees police contact the suspect.

The responding officer stops the suspect and observes two people in a car the man was walking toward. These people are also contacted by officers and a general search is made. The first suspect is searched and a knife, metal knuckles, a Kenwood cassette receiver, a screwdriver, wire cutters and a two-way radio are found in his possession. One of the suspects in the vehicle is found to be sitting on a second two-way radio. The witness positively ID's the first suspect as the man he saw going into the car lot, but he cannot identify the second person he saw. All suspects are transported to the North Precinct. Two of them are underage, and one is released to his father's custody. The parents of the other are unable to be reached, so he is placed into Youth Services Center for investigation of theft. The third suspect is old enough to be booked into King County Jail just a month before her 19th birthday...
