Doug Martin says he decided on a '53 Studebaker for his street rod because "That was the first car my older brother brought home...and 1953 is the year I was born." Martin completely restored the car from scratch over a six year period, installing modern suspension, rack and pinion steering, and a 350 cubic inch Chevy engine. Martin grew up in the Greenwood and Green Lake area and was "thrilled and surprised" to be one of the major prize winners at the Greenwood Auto Show.
Karen Jackson, store director for Greenwood Fred Meyer, awarded the Sponsor's Best of Show trophy to Rob Hughes and his '48 Chrysler Town and Country convertible.
And Greenwood's finest hand with the scissors, Martin DeGrazia of DeGrazia's Hair Salon, picked up a second place award for Best Convertible post-1950. DeGrazia drives a butter yellow 1954 Chevy Bel Air.
The Greenwood Chamber of Commerce produces the auto show.
