A Sand Point minimart is robbed on a Wednesday at 9 a.m. The thief enters the store, walks directly to the beer cooler and gets a twelve-pack of Schmidt beer. He then walks back out of the store. The clerk tells him, "Don't leave, you haven't paid yet," but the man ignores her and leaves. He gets into his car, which is otherwise occupied only by a large brown dog, and drives away. The clerk and a witness both write down the vehicle license number and provide the information to the police officers who arrive a short time later. The officers determine the name and address of the vehicle owner and pay a visit. The car is parked outside the house. There is no answer to knocks at the door, but a dog can be heard barking somewhere in the house. The officers leave a business card and incident report number on the windshield of the car and depart...

In Fremont on a Tuesday, a man is arrested for domestic violence after fleeing the scene aboard a Metro bus. Police respond to the girlfriend's call in time to stop the bus at the next stop. The man tells them this story: They got in a fight. She hit him; he hit her. An officer asks him why, and the man replied that it was because she likes to get hit, that she likes the violence.
Her story is different. She says that after 10 months together they are breaking up. They have fought before, and during the last incident four weeks ago, he threatened to kill her. Today, as he packed his bag, she tried to shop him leaving. He punched her several times in the face. She grabbed his shirt and knocked his glasses off. He continued to punch her as she attempted to call police. He tried to disconnect the phone line, but she told him she would get a gun and shoot him. She tells police that she has no gun; she just wanted him to leave her alone and stop punching her.
The officers ascertain that the man has no apparent injuries but the woman has marks that can be clearly seen. They arrest the man...

An elderly Green Lake woman sits in her home with the front door open but the screen door locked, when she hears a man's voice calling her. She goes to the door and the man tells her that he is a free-lance writer doing research on older houses like hers. Since this is a well-publicized robbery M.O. in the area, she tells him she has read about him in the papers and she is going to call 911. She locks the rest of her doors and calls police. The man, described as clean cut, bald on top with blond hair on the sides, leaves in an unknown direction. She tells officers that her seemed surprised that she knew who he was...

A North Seattle woman is the victim of stalking as she walks to Aurora Avenue North to catch a bus. A man in a gray Honda drives by her, staring. She tries not to look at him and walks into the Larry's Market parking lot. She thinks he is gone, but a moment later he drives by her again, apparently after circling the block. She gets to her bus stop and boards the bus but sees the car following the bus. She tells the driver that she is being followed, and police officers meet the bus a few stops up the line. The suspect car is gone. The woman tells officers she has never seen the man before. Police check the registered owner's address, where the apartment manager tells officeres the suspect does not live there...

A man rollerblading on the Lake City section of the Burke-Gilman Trail sees to teenage boys at the top of a set of stairs leading down to the trail. As he passes them, he hears a pop and then feels a sharp, stinging sensation between his shoulder blades. He turns and sees the boys fleeing north into the Lake City neighborhood. The shorter one is holding an air pistol. The man loses sight of them but believes they live in the area...
