Mug Painting at Ballard SeafoodFest

Sev Shoon Arts Center is sponsoring "This Mug's on Us" a competition featuring painting murals on giant coffee mugs.

Two teams of artists will come up with designs for two five-foot-tall mugs and proceed to paint them during the Ballard SeafoodFest. The finished mugs will be displayed at Sev Shoon, 5200 Ballard Ave and at the Daniel Smith Art Supply store on 1st Avenue South. Mug painting will be on Saturday July 29, 11 - 6p.m. and Sunday July 30, 1 - 6p.m.

Special Stuff
Bergen Place Family Stage
located at the corner of 22nd & Market

The Early Lunch Bunch Saturday, July 29, 11 a.m. Bergen Place Stage: Discounted Salmon Barbecue dinners for seniors (only $4.50) and special entertainment with northwest icon Stan Boreson. Tickets available in advance at the Chamber Office. Call (206) 784-9705.

Lutefisk Eating Contest Saturday, July 29, 2 p.m. Bergen Place Stage: Host, Julie Cascioppo. Twelve iron-bellied contestants challenge their physical constitutions and eat with gusto. Yes, you guessed it, as much lutefisk as their appetites can muster. Now, one might question the logic of shoveling gelatinous white-lyed cod down the gullet under hot July sun for $100 reward, but this is Ballard, and remember, we're celebrating fish-ness as well as our Scandinavian heritage.

Fire Department Demo: Saturday and Sunday 2:30 p.m. at 22nd & Market NW

All Weekend Stuff:
Juried Craft and Food Booths: A plethora of treasures and delectibles hand-picked by the Ballard Chamber.

La Senoritas Maritime Pacific Beer Garden: Quench your thirst with a sip of Maritime's precious brews.
