Gourmet Dining for a Good Cause

Aug 09, 2000 -- More than 50 Seattle restaurants and beverage purveyors will come together at the Pike Place Market on August 18 to feature items from their menus at the Market Foundation's 5th Annual Sunset Supper.

Guests will be treated to delicacies such as cold peach soup with blueberries, lavender shortcake, spice-rubbed salmon with cornbread pudding and shitake relish and root beer floats from Thomas Kemper Soda. A partial list of the participating restaurants includes Campagne, Cascadia, the Hunt Club at the Sorrento Hotel, Etta's and Hotel Edgewater. Live music for dancing will be provided by The Dudley Manlove Quartet.

The Market Foundation was established in 1982 and works to preserve the diversity and traditions of the Pike Place Market community. The money raised from the supper will provide food, medical care, child care, employment and housing services for low-income and elderly residents of downtown Seattle.

Tickets for this event are $50 per person. Tickets are also available for reserved seating at $75 per person, for patron seating at $150 per person and for benefactor seating at $500 per person. Corporate tables of 10 are available for $1,500. To purchase tickets, call 682-7453 or buy them online at pikeplacemarket.org.
