The stranger then walks over to the dog owner and begins to yell in his face. The dog owner tells officers later that he has been coming to this park with his dog for years and never had a problem before today. He says he has no idea why the stranger assaulted his dog. A Crown Hill man sleeps in his trailer, parked outside his house, when he is awakened at 2:42 a.m. by voices across the street. He looks out the trailer window and sees a man and a woman talking to a third person. The third person walks away, and then the witness sees the woman crouch behind a brown Datsun car. The man walks to another Datsun, a blue coupe parked in front of the brown car, and also kneels by the rear license plate area. At this point the witness goes inside his house and calls 911. While he is on the phone, he sees the man return to the brown car and crouch by the rear license plate. Police officers arrive and the man gets up, carrying several items including a 24 oz can of cheap beer. He walks to the blue car, ignoring officers ordering him away from the vehicle, and deposits the items. Only then does he step away from the car, and the woman also complies. The officers find that the brown car's steering column is broken, the ignition has been punched and several wires are dangling from the dash. They also find two sets of license plates, one for each of the two cars. The brown car's plates come back "stolen" when a check is run. The officers also find several pieces of identification not belonging to the man or the woman, and several tools. The pair are arrested, the brown stolen car is impounded, and the blue Datsun coupe is left parked at the scene...

A woman teaching an aerobics class at the University Heights Center reports that a man disturbed her class on a Monday at 6:14 p.m. She says that he doesn't like her and that he has a restraining order against her, and that on this occasion he pounded on the classroom windows and shouted obscenities. Police officers visit the man's residence but he is not at home; however, a neighbor tells them that the noise from the aerobics class is an ongoing problem and that the instructor's voice is "amplified, very loud and very disturbing." He says that the suspect went over and told the class to "respect the neighbors and turn it down." No record of a restraining order is found...
