Workshop to Discuss Northgate Urban Center

Sep 06, 2000 -- The City of Seattle, King County and Sound Transit will host a design workshop this fall to build on work that was started by citizens in the Northgate Neighborhood Plan and Northgate Town Center Visioning Charrette.

Northgate residents and businesses, local government and transit agency staff and planning/design professionals will be brought together to develop concepts that will shape growth near the proposed light rail station site. Some of the specific issues that the Department of Neighborhoods would like to hear from the public about include the proposed community center and branch library, the light rail station and related development, benefits for Thornton Creek watershed, pedestrian and bicycle features, urban art and open space.

A date for the workshop has not been announced. For more information, call Deirdre Grace of the Department of Neighborhoods at 684-8896 or e-mail her at deirdre.grace@ci.seattle.wa.us.
