Olympics, Dedication and Community Celebration This Weekend at Carkeek Park

On October 8, a bench will be installed in the early afternoon at Carkeek Park's Hazel Nut Grove, 950 NW Carkeek Park Rd., to honor Hazel Wolf.
The bench, being built by Eagle Scout candidate Brian Hodder from Boy Scout Troop 123, will be dedicated as part of the activities scheduled for that day. Events will be held at the park on October 7 and 8 to help raise money for the remodel of the Carkeek Park Annex.
Events on October 7 will include the Carkeek Park Olympics and Review from 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., with bicycle, razorscooter and mountain bike rallies, a three-legged race, basketball skills, running races, balance demonstration, and more. The review will include music from the Ingraham H.S. Jazz Band, story time and more.
On October 7, the events will take place at Viewlands Elementary School, on 3rd Avenue Northwest between Northwest 105th and Northwest 107th Streets, from 9:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. and then Jack Gladstone's concert from 7 - 8:30 p.m. On October 8, the events will take place at Carkeek Park in the Environmental Education campus from 2 - 5 p.m.
