A woman in her 20s walks along University Way Northeast at 7:36 in the evening of a recent Monday. She sees a stranger weaving along the sidewalk towards her. She later tells police that the man, whom she describes as being around 20 and six feet tall, was "leering and smiling" at her while she screamed. A man refuses to leave a University District convenience store. Since the man was trespassed from that store just a week earlier, the clerk calls police. The suspect says he remembers the officer telling him not to go back to the store, but he went there anyway to get something to eat. The arresting officer searches the suspect prior to arresting him, and finds a small baggie of marijuana in the man’s pocket, so he will also be charged with narcotics possession…

Four friends attend a party at a fraternity house near the University of Washington on a Thursday night. As they enter and pay the $5 cover charge, one of the group feels that one of the party’s hosts has taken a dislike to him. He says the fraternity member began to give the group a "bad time" for no reason, refusing to shake his hand which he offered as a friendly gesture. About an hour and a half later, the party attendee steps outside to smoke a cigarette, where he again encounters the unfriendly frat member. Again, he puts his hand out to shake and defuse the situation, but the suspect shoves him in the chest with both hands. The partygoer says he took a swing in self-defense and was immediately jumped from behind by four or more individuals. They restrain him and punch him several times before his friends are able to pull him to safety. Officers transport the young man to a hospital emergency room, where he is treated for his injuries…
