History House Honors Trudy Weckworth and Zoo Docents

At the History House Second Anniversary celebration September 22, Trudy Weckworth (left) and Gwen Anderson discovered they both have roots in the small farming town of Lemmon, South Dakota. Weckworth, former columnist for the Seattle Press and several other north end community newspapers, was honored for her 50-year career in community journalism. Anderson is a member of the docent program at Woodland Park Zoo, which was also honored by History House at the anniversary reception. Stan Stapp, former publisher of the Outlook and other north end papers, introduced Weckworth. Suzie Burke, president of History House, chaired the festivities.
History House is a museum of photographs and artifacts from north end communities, located at 790 N 34th St.
