Fremont Lights Up For Holidays

Nov 30, 2000 -- The holiday season will officially begin in Fremont on Thursday December 7 at 5:30 p.m. That's when Fremonsters will throw the switch to light up the 20-foot Holiday Tree in Solstice Plaza (North 34th Street and Fremont Avenue). The third annual event—from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.—will include strolling carolers, photos with Santa and the trolls and plenty of hot coffee and cookies.

Immediately after the tree lighting, the AdobeInTunes carolers will put on a special performance. Getty images will return to provide digital photography for anyone interested in having their picture taken with Santa or a Troll.

The Fremont Rocket at Evanston Avenue and North 35th Street will also be lit up (but not ignited).

The Holiday Tree is sponsored by Bedford Property Investors and the Quadrant Lake Union Owners Association.
