Greenwood Community Council Meets February 6

Jan 31, 2001 -- The Greenwood Community Council will meet on February 6 at the Greenwood Neighborhood Service Center, 8515 Greenwood Ave. N at 7 p.m.

The full agenda will include a discussion of Fred Meyer's plans to acquire the lease on the Greenwood Market, the appeal of Safeway's building permit for failure to mitigate traffic impacts on the neighborhood, the status of the Greenwood Park, the siting of the new Greenwood Library, priorities for 2001 and nominations for council leadership positions.

Michael McGinn of the GCC is particularly concerned with Fred Meyer's plan for the Greenwood Market lease, fearing plans by the national chain to install another "superstore" like the new one in Ballard's industrial district.
