Phinney/Greenwood Garage Sale Day
Mar 22, 2001 -- Planning a garage sale this spring? Want to attract hundreds of customers? If you live in the Phinney or Greenwood neighborhoods, consider having your sale on Saturday, April 21, and be part of the 8th annual Greenwood Garage Sale Day.Sponsored by the Phinney Neighborhood Association, Greenwood Garage Sale Day traditionally attracts thousands of bargain hunters who prowl the streets to take advantage of the more than 100 sales held throughout the neighborhood. For a $15 fee, the PNA does all the advertising and publicity, publishes and distributes a Garage Sale Guide that includes a map and listing of all sales and provides an "official" Garage Sale Day sign to all participants.
In addition to garage sales, a flea market with more than 20 stalls will be set up in the lower parking lot of the Phinney Neighborhood Center at 6532 Phinney Ave. N.
In conjunction with Earth Day, Greenwood Garage Sale Day encourages recycling and neighborhood clean-up. Seattle Goodwill will provide a donation station in the Phinney Center parking lot to accept usable donations on Saturday, April 21, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday, April 22, from 8 a.m. to noon.
