A courtesy clerk at a University District grocery store arrives at work for her weekend afternoon shift and enters the store. She observes a skinny, balding man pushing a full cart of unbagged groceries. As she watches, he quickly pushes the cart out one of the south doors. The clerk follows him as he wheels the cart across the parking lot to a gold-colored Buick parked behind a line of trees, out of sight of the store's entrance. She runs back to the store for assistance, and she and a second clerk record the license number of the vehicle, which is given to police. Her description of the suspect matches that of a theft suspect two weeks earlier at the same store. Employees are told to call 911 if they see the man again...

A man jogging around Green Lake calls 911 to report finding a loaded handgun near the Bathhouse Theater at 4:25 on a Saturday. When officers arrive, he relates this story: he saw "an old guy" pick up a gun from the grass. He asked the "old guy" if the gun was real, and the reply was, "I think so." The older man placed the gun in a trashcan, saying he was in a hurry. The jogger retrieved the gun and waited for police.
As the responding officer is having the gun's serial number checked, another officer is flagged down by a man who says he lost a .380 handgun while rollerblading. He provides officers with a concealed weapons permit and says he believes he lost the gun when he fell down earlier. After checking to see that he is not wanted for any crime, the officers return the gun to the careless man...

A neighbor reports hearing a loud "pop" at 2:10 a.m. The neighbor says he looked outside and saw two young men in dark clothing inside the vehicle. He yelled and they ran away. The victim says his car was locked and nothing of value was inside. He cannot think of anyone who would do this...

A woman calls police and tells this story: at 3:30 p.m. on a Saturday afternoon she departs her condominium building's secure parking lot in her car. Another car is stopped in front of the exit, blocking her in. She honks her horn, and eventually the other driver moves, driving down the road. The woman goes the same direction and stops behind the other car at a red light. When the light changes, the other driver does not move, so she honks at him again. He purposely backs into her car, shifts gears and speeds through the intersection. She follows and pulls into the left turn lane nearing the next light. The suspect swerves into her lane, attempting to collide with her, then turns right and departs northbound on 1st Avenue NE. She tells officers that no visible damage was done to her car, but she fears the suspect may retaliate later, since he may live in the same building she does...
