May 03, 2001 -- And we think North 45th Street's backed up now?! Just wait.

Starting at 7 a.m. on May 6, the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will close the I-5 northbound 50th Street on-ramp. The ramp will remain closed for 10 days, 24 hours a day, reopening of May 16. Traffic will be rerouted to the 45th Street and 70th Street northbound ramps, with detour signs posted along 5th Avenue NE, Roosevelt Way and 12th Avenue NE.

During this time, crews will be working on the expansion joints of the I-5 overpasses at Ravenna Boulevard and NE 65th Street (a.k.a. the Ravenna Bridge). A map of the Detour Plan is available in the Wallingford Neighborhood Office, located at 2100-A N 45th Street (behind Tully's Coffee on N 45th). For the WSDOT press release, see http://www.wallingford.org/news.htm#IN THE NEWS THIS WEEK.
