A burglar alarm calls security and police to an equipment rental business on Leary Way at 3:59 a.m. on a Tuesday. The security guard arrives first and is waiting in his vehicle for police to arrive when he hears a male voice say, "Fuck, that's the alarm company!" Shortly thereafter, he hears a door close and sees a black Dodge van with a blue stripe just above the rear bumper pull away westbound on 42nd Street. He follows in his vehicle, but stops when he thinks the suspects may have noticed him. Meanwhile, police show up at the business and see an open roll-up door inside a fenced, locked area. The security guard returns and opens the locked gate so that officers can investigate. They discover three pressure washer spray guns outside the fence, as if they have been thrown over from inside. These are placed back inside the secure area. A business card and paperwork are left for store employees to fill out the following morning after they determine if anything is missing. The security man resets the alarm...

A man leaves his business in Wallingford at 4:10 a.m. on a Tuesday morning, carrying a briefcase containing the previous day's receipts. The attacker knocks the man to the ground and tries to take the briefcase, but the man holds onto it. A witness in a nearby apartment building opens her window and shouts down at the struggling pair, and the suspect flees to a car driven by a second person. Another witness, walking along 45th, sees the man flee and describes the car as a blue two-door, probably an import, with a spoiler. Police do not locate the suspect vehicle. The victim has several facial injuries and is bleeding from his mouth and nose. He is transported to Harborview...

The two men get angry, and one yells at the strangers to move on. The car stops and two men get out and begin to fight with the pedestrians. During the altercation, one of the locals is hit on the head with a set of "brass knuckles" by one of the strangers. The fight breaks up and the strangers get back into their car and drive away. Police are called when the beaten pair engage in a loud verbal argument about who started the fight and who won. They eventually agree that the fight was mutual, and tell the officers, "We just got our ass kicked."
