Monorail Design and Route Workshops Scheduled

Oct 11, 2001 -- Plans for a monorail serving West Seattle, Downtown, Interbay, Ballard and Broadview are moving ahead. The Elevated Transportation Company (ETC), the group charged with developing the plans, has scheduled a series of public meetings to gather community input.

Where should the monorail go? What should it look like? How will it be integrated into your neighborhood? These are questions you can help answer. There will be four workshops next week:

October 16, 6 p.m. in Gould Hall on the UW campus at 3949 15th Ave. NE,

October 17, 6 p.m. at the Nordic Heritage Museum, 3014 NW 67th St. in Ballard,

October 18, 6 p.m. at Town Hall, 1119 8th Ave. downtown,

October 20, 9:30 a.m. in the Brockey Student Center at the south end of South Seattle Community College, 6000 16th Ave. SW in West Seattle.

For more information about the monorail or any of the meetings, call (206) 262-8184 or visit www.elevated.org.
