Oct 25, 2001 -- A woman leaves her house on Crown Hill at 1:20 on a Friday afternoon, returning at about 8:30 that evening. She opens her back door to let her cat out, and is surprised to see the frame latch bracket fall out of the door frame along with some bits of wood. She looks more closely and sees that the door has been forced open, and someone has nailed the frame together so the door could be closed. Nothing in her house appears to be missing or disturbed...

Between 9 p.m. on a Wednesday and 6:30 p.m. the next day, thieves enter the shed/garage of a Ballard residence and steal $100-$150 worth of frozen meat out of a freezer...

Two teenagers enter a grocery store on N 45th Street in Wallingford at about 10:10 p.m. on a Friday night. Both pull out guns and point them at the clerk. One says, "Give it to me," meaning the money in the cash register. His companion grabs about 20 packs of Newport cigarettes. The clerk gives them the contents of the till, about $800, and they leave, running eastbound on 45th. The clerk follows after waiting until they are gone. He sees them turn south on Sunnyside. He asks a person on the corner of Sunnyside if he saw the suspects; the man says he did not but that a silver car drove away fast a moment earlier...

Sometime overnight between a Friday and a Saturday, unknown suspects remove the letter "I" from the sign of a store in the University Village shopping center...

A University District man's apartment is burglarized between 4:30 and 5:50 p.m. on a Saturday. He tells police that he locked his door, but they observe that the door is in poor condition and provides little security. A neighbor reports seeing someone at the man's door while he was out. She initially thought the man was her neighbor, so she said hello, and the man "jumped back as if he was doing something that he shouldn't be doing." The real resident of the apartment returned to find his djembe drum, valued at $300, missing...

A pizza delivery man delivers a pizza to a woman at a Wedgwood address at 7:30 on a Saturday evening, and she pays with a check. Later, the delivery man attempts to process the check and discovers that the account is closed. He calls the woman back, but she tells him she has no money to pay for the pie. Police are called, but the woman is no longer at the delivery address...

A woman leaves her car unlocked while she is inside a Ravenna business at 9:30 p.m. on a Saturday. When she returns, her purse is missing...

A woman is enjoying herself on a Saturday night at a Belltown pool hall. At about 11:30, a man becomes friendlier than she likes, and she refuses his advances. Later, she stops for a late meal at a 24-hour restaurant in the neighborhood. While she is there, the man shows up. She leaves and goes home to her Wallingford residence. At about 4:40 a.m., she sees the same man running along the side of her house. Fearing for her safety, she calls police. They are unable to locate the man in the area, and advise her to spend the rest of the night at a friend's house. She says she has never met the man before...

A man enters a University District pizza restaurant at 7 p.m. on a Sunday, leaving his bicycle outside. When he emerges a "short time" later, his bike is gone. He tells officers he did not lock up the bicycle, valued at $1,500...

A woman walks eastbound on 85th Street just east of Greenwood Avenue at 7:42 p.m. on a Sunday. She is approached by two large men in dark clothing, who force her into a parking lot and take her backpack. A witness sees the men grab her and honks his car horn, and the suspects leave northbound on Palatine Avenue in a white, older American sedan. The victim returns home and calls police. Later, a man calls her to report that he has found her backpack in the parking lot of a north end store. She retrieves the pack and reports to police that her British passport is missing. She is instructed to call the British Consulate to report the theft...

A Crown Hill woman calls police at 11:30 p.m. on a Monday night to report a suspicious piece of mail. It has no return address, but the postmark indicates it was sent from Fredericksburg, Virginia. The woman says she is an unemployed computer consultant. The responding officer evaluates the facts and advises the woman to dispose of the piece of mail, which she has wrapped in a plastic bag, in the trash...

   i think it is an interesting article being that i am a single parent who keeps to himself. i wonder what they had to pay for the crime, and how long of time serviced. did these two try anything with credit card. that would have been good. because i am a good person
