Now is the Time to Get Involved on Phinney Ridge

Jan 03, 2002 -- If you live on Phinney Ridge, this is for you. The Phinney Ridge Community Council Annual Meeting will be on February 5, 2002, at 7 p.m. in the Phinney Neighborhood Center in meeting room 6. In addition to electing board members and officers, the meeting will include time to socialize, discuss issues and priorities for 2002, and conduct other business (such as consideration of amendments to the PRCC bylaws and constitution).

The Phinney Ridge Community Council is involved with many projects and issues in the neighborhood and nearby. It works closely with the Greenwood Community Council to help implement parts of the joint neighborhood plan, including several new park projects and the new Greenwood library. PRCC gives Phinney residents a stronger voice in issues that come up with proposed developments, major institutions, and city policies. PRCC 's active board is also putting concerted effort into improving its meetings and procedures and developing better ways of communicating with neighbors.

Consider nominating yourself or recruiting someone for a Board position. Or plan on coming to the regular monthly meetings and adding your voice to the proceedings. To make nominations or ask questions, call Lynn Graves at (206) 789-1711, e-mail lyngraves@mindspring.com, or Irene Wall at (206) 784-8731, e-mail iwall@serv.net.

The PRCC board regularly meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 7:30 PM at the Phinney Neighborhood Center at 6532 Phinney Ave. N. Due to the New Year's Holiday, the January meeting will be on January 8, 2002.
