Honey Bear Reopens in Ravenna

Jan 17, 2002 -- The corner of NE 65th Street and 20th Avenue NE will get a new look in the coming months. The property, which was a Puget Consumers Cooperative (PCC), has been sold to Third Place Company and Honey Bear Bakery.

The two groups already have serious plans for the site. Third Place is going to use many elements of its Lake Forest Park location for this second store. It has promised that the new shop will have a bookstore and a community gathering space. Honey Bear Bakery will also be on location.

In deciding to sell the property, PCC's Board of Trustees reviewed many different use proposals. In the end, the board agreed on the Third Place/Honey Bear proposal due to its compatibility with the neighborhood. In addition, there was quite a bit of written and verbal support for the sale to Third Place/Honey Bear from the surrounding community.
