Police are called to a North Seattle hospital on a Sunday evening when a visitor refuses to leave after visiting hours. The same young woman has been staying after visiting hours on several occasions, and hospital staff say that she has refused to leave when asked. The staffer has called a cab for her and provided a voucher so that the hospital will pay for her ride. He tells the responding officer that she is not welcome back. The officer waits for the girl, as she is on the telephone when he arrives. She finishes her call and sits back down by the door. The officer gets a Criminal Trespass card to fill out while they wait for the cab. He explains to the suspect the situation, that she is not to return to the hospital and that her cab ride home will be free. She stares ahead and says nothing. He asks her for identification and gets the same response. He says that if she doesn't give her name so he can fill out the card, he will have to arrest her for criminal trespass. Again, she does not respond. The officer puts down the card and tells the girl she is under arrest. He goes to take her hands behind her so he can handcuff her, and she lashes out with both hands at his face, scratching him on one cheek. He grabs her wrist and pulls her up from the bench, and forces her to the ground. She rolls onto her back and again lashes out at his face, but is unable to hurt him this time. The officer rolls her onto her stomach and she begins to flail with her arms and legs. The hospital staffer has to assist in handcuffing her. She is booked into the Youth Services Center...
