Greenwood Park Plans Nearly Final

Jan 31, 2002 -- A few dedicated neighbors were present for the unveiling of design drawings for the new Greenwood Park, which will be located at the former site of the old Otani Greenhouses at 87th Street and Fremont Avenue.

Plans call for a neighborhood park featuring play areas for kids, a wide open field, and a trellised seating area designed to evoke a train station. The trellis was conceived as a historic reference to the Interurban railroad line, which once ran through the site on its way from Seattle to Everett.

For more information about the park, as well as information on future community meetings regarding it, visit www.greenwood-park.org.
