The results are in! Last month, the Seattle Press conducted a poll of our readers. We wanted to know what you like, what you don't, what we should do more of and why you think so. To show our appreciation, we arranged with local businesses to offer prizes for a drawing, and the winners have been chosen.
The grand prize winner is Marie Ellen Michl of Northgate/Victory Heights. She will be taking a weekend cruise to Victoria aboard of the Victoria Clipper. While she is there, she will be staying free at the Empress Hotel. Marie has been reading the Seattle Press for many years. "I like it because it's the North End paper," she said. "It's like reading a small hometown paper."
We wish Marie a happy cruise and a wonderful visit in Victoria.
Winner of the first prize is Dirk Karis, who will enjoy a special dinner at Pasta Bella Ristorante. Dirk is a recent transplant to Seattle who first read the Press because, "my friend handed me a copy." He has been reading it since we re-started in September, and says his favorite feature is the "There From Here" column by Tara Peattie. "It's more thorough, questioning coverage of transit issues than you find in the dailies," he said. At press time, Dirk was planning to use his gift certificate to take his wife to dinner on Valentine's Day, which is also their anniversary.
