Get Big Discounts on Natural Yard Care Products at "Northwest Natural Yards Days"

Apr 04, 2002 -- Starting on Saturday, April 6, as part of a continuous effort to reduce curbside yard waste, conserve water and protect natural resources, 36 local government agencies will kick off "Northwest Natural Yards Days." The public can receive substantial discounts on electric mulch mowers, push reel mowers and a variety of natural yard care and water-conserving products:

Saturday, April 6, 9:00. - 3:00 p.m.
Northwest Natural Yard Days
Seattle Center, Fifth Avenue Parking Lot

Northwest Natural Yard Days is an outgrowth of the highly successful "Get Mower For Less" promotion that began in 1998. Since 1998, Puget Sound residents have purchased 15,000 electric mulch mowers, making the region a leader in natural yard care.

People attending the Northwest Natural Yard Days Opening Day event can learn about grasscycling, water conservation, soil care and the use of insecticidal soaps.

Following the April 6 event, residents can receive discounts on Northwest Natural Yard Days products by visiting one of 34 participating hardware stores throughout King and Pierce counties April 7-30.

While sponsoring agencies encourage people to recycle their old gas mower for free at the event, residents are not required to trade in an old mower to receive a discount on any of the products being offered. Full discounts are limited at the opening day event and will be available on a first come first served basis. However, all products will be priced at least 25 percent off the suggested retail price. Parking at the events is free, and loading and unloading assistance is provided.
