Monorail, Light Rail, Derail?

Apr 04, 2002 -- There have been numerous discussions about the Sound Transit process and costs, but this Seattle Architectural Foundation Forum is about the end product. How might these transit possibilities impact our built environment? What are the key design issues facing Seattle? What have other cities experienced with their transit systems?

On April 11, the Seattle Architectural Foundation will present a forum titled "Monorail, Light Rail, Derail?", 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. at the Rainier Square Conference Center, 1333 5th Ave., Level 3.

Bill Kreager, AIA, of the SAF Boad, will present the topic in context of transit alternatives. Craig Norsen, Development Chair of the Elevated Transportation Company (ETC), will discuss the proposed monorail. John W. Ladenburg, Pierce County Executive and Sound Transit Board member, will offer the light rail perspective.
