New Initiative Seeks Washington Name Change
Apr 11, 2002 --
A Seattle-based group has filed an initiative to change the name of Washington State to Cascadia. David John Anderson, of the group We Are Cascadia, says, "By recognizing our state as Cascadia and championing our own identity, our entire state will benefit from a surge of self-awareness celebrating our own culture and the lives we live here."
We Are Cascadia seeks support for its campaign. For information, call (206) 784-8067 or e-mail we_are_cascadia@hotmail.com.

THIS WILL COST BILLIONS, without question. David John Anderson is a fool to believe that people are going to vote for this. It's a complete and utter waste of money for a little problem that no one really cares that much about. With everything happening as it has been, government agencies reeling from cuts, and a recession on, this the worst time to even consider such an insane and foolish idea. |

What an ass. Self awareness? Sounds more like self importance Dave. |
