May 09, 2002 --
It's the time of year when Greenwood and Phinney business owners and residents get together and put on a show for the whole city. The Seventh Annual Greenwood-Phinney ArtWalk will take place on Friday May 10 from 6 - 9:30 p.m. and Saturday May 11 from noon - 5 p.m. The ArtWalk is getting bigger every year, and this one will stretch along Greenwood and Phinney Avenues from N 65th Street to N 87th Street.
The ArtWalk is a grand opportunity to see all sorts of work: photography, prints, paintings, sculpture, glass, mixed media, and more. All the entries were selected by a jury of Patricia Cameron of Greenwood's Patricia Cameron Fine Arts, Judith Kindler of Atelier 31 Gallery, William Wikstrom of ArtHead Gallery and David Berger, art critic for the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. In addition to loads of great art, the Greenwood Library will host a kids' chalk art site, and there will be live entertainment both Friday and Saturday at sites along the route.
ArtWalk maps are available at participating businesses (almost every shop on Greenwood!) and at the Greenwood Neighborhood Service Center (8515 Greenwood), the Greenwood Library (8016 Greenwood), and the Phinney Neighborhood Center (6532 Phinney Ave.). For more information call 684-4096.
