Trading Up: Kids Bike Swap

May 09, 2002 -- Every kid knows it's a drag to grow out of your favorite things. On Saturday, May 11, Bike Works will host Kids Bike Swap, an event where kids can trade in their too-small bikes for larger models. Depending on the size and condition of a trade-in, the swap can be inexpensive or even free!

Only kid-sized bikes will be accepted at the bike swap, which takes place from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at Genesee Playfield, located at S Genesee Street and 43rd Ave. S just off Rainier Avenue. Bike Works is a non-profit organization that also sponsors bicycle repair classes for kids. For more information about the Bike Swap or the organization, call 725-9408 or visit www.scn.org/bikeworks.

May 11 is also a good day for the whole family to cycle over to Lake Washington Boulevard for the year's first Bicycle Saturday on Lake Washington Boulevard.
