Ale Drinkers will help the Fremont Bridge Get Lit
May 20, 1999 --
Hales Brewery is donating a portion of the profits from their new Drawbridge Blonde Ale to the Seattle Millenium Lighting Project. The project includes permanent dramatic lighting for the Fremont, Aurora and Ballard Bridges. Fremont Fun Club Rotary and other community organizations are helping to raise funds for the project, which will cost around $450,000. The new Hales beverage was inspired by the concept for lighting the Fremont Bridge. The label for the new ale features a picture of the bridge and a close-up of the drawbridge blonde, the neon image of Rapunzel that stares longingly from the west bridge tower.
