Seattle Jazz Bands Rule in New York
May 16, 2002 -- Bands from two Seattle high schools took first and second place at the annual Essentially Ellington national competition at the Lincoln Center in New York. The top prize went to the Roosevelt High School Jazz Band, directed by Scott Brown. Second place was awarded to Garfield High School's jazz band, directed by Clarence Acox.Reader Comments
