Egg Processor Fined for Pollution

May 16, 2002 -- The Washington Department of Ecology has fined National Food Corporation's Arlington egg processing plant $109,000. The fine was levied because the plant repeatedly exceeded maximum levels of egg-processing waste discharged into the sewer. The company also withheld monitoring information about the excessive discharges, which occurred 21 times in 2000 and 2001.
