Wallingford Community Council Elects New Officers

Jun 06, 2002 -- At a meeting in May, the Wallingford Community Council gathered for its annual meeting.

After a speech and Q & A session with Mayor Greg Nickels, the members got down to business. The slate of candidates for the next two-year cycle was presented, and quickly approved, by those present. The new Wallingford Community Council president is Paul Grekin. The three vice presidents are Steve Cyr, James Egan and Rick Bolder. Tom Bartholomew, Janet Stillman and Patrick Long will serve as recording secretary, corresponding secretary and treasure, respectively.

In his speech, Mayor Greg Nickels spoke spoke about the new Department of Neighborhods director, Yvonne Sanchez, the need for "rewriting this city's economic playbook" by making hard budget decisions, and renewing the housing levy.
