Jun 20, 2002 --
The summer festival season wouldn't be complete without the Greenwood Classic Car and Rod Show. On June 29, the 10th Annual show will be bigger than ever before, stretching along Greenwood Avenue from North 70th Street all the way to North 87th. More than 600 classic cars and hot rods are expected, and best of all, it's free!
For those who are merely accompanying the classic car nut of the family, there will also be musical entertainment and food vendors at 84th Street, and neighborhood restaurants and shops will feature specials for the occasion.
Car owners can register to enter the show by calling the Greenwood-Phinney Chamber of Commerce at (206) 789-1148 or by visiting the Greenwood Neighborhood Service Center at 8515 Greenwood Ave. Day-of-show volunteers are welcomed; high school students can earn community service credits for next year.

I have driven up and down the West Coast in the past and can give my heartiest endorsement to the FREE car show in Greenwood during the early summer. The people and the cars are all top notch. It still amazes me how many of these cars are local (within walking distance) of the show. The city and the local businesses have done a great job putting this together year after year. Please go and enjoy an afternoon strolling in one of Seattle's finer neighborhoods. |
