Apartment Fire Claims Georgetown Homes
Jul 18, 2002 --
An early morning fire heavily damaged a Georgetown apartment building on July 11. While all 11 residents and their pets got out safely, in large part thanks to the efforts of building's manager, they are now homeless and being provided shelter by the Seattle Red Cross. The fire destroyed precious affordable housing, as well as much of the residents' possessions. Donations to help these and other local fire victims can be sent to in care of the Seattle Red Cross, 1900 25th Ave. S, Seattle, WA 98144, or they can be made at www.seattleredcross.org. Putting "Local disaster relief" in the memo line ensures that your money will provide aid to Seattle families.
