NIAOM Closes in Fremont
Aug 15, 2002 --
FREMONT--The Northwest Institute of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, which was most recently located in Fremont's Adobe Plaza complex, announced at the end of July that it is closing its doors for good.
The Institute was founded in 1981, and was the oldest accredited graduate program in Oriental Medicine in the Northwest. In addition to degree programs, it also offered free and low-cost treatment through its clinics in Fremont and around King County.
In typical Fremont style, a wake is planned for Friday, August 16 at 5:30 p.m. It will begin with a decorating of the "Waiting for the Interurban" statue at the corner of 34th Street & Fremont Avenue, and then a funeral procession will depart at 6 p.m. proceeding to Gas Works Park. At 7 p.m. in Gas Works, the wake will include remembrances, the burning of a sacrificial lab coat, food, and more.

Does anyone know how to go about getting our patient records from NIAOM? Is anyone involved in the class actions suit against Group Health? |
