Police Foundation

Aug 15, 2002 -- Does the Seattle Police Department have enough funding to perform its duties? Perhaps, but a newly-announced group whose board of directors includes former mayor Wes Uhlman, Ken Alhadeff, Kate Joncas of the Downtown Seattle Association and several other business and civic leaders, is hoping to bolster the department's ability to do its job by raising additional money.

On August 5, the Seattle Police Foundation announced its intention to raise supplemental funds to enhance community-police relations, equipment and technology, and police training and recognition. The first item on the Foundation's agenda is an awards banquet to honor SPD officers.
