Mt. St. Helens Volcano Watch
Current view of Mt. St. Helens.
Got'cher ears on? Lots of excitement with steam and flying rocks. Popcorn 10¢

More on the volcano watch from the US Forest Service and the Geological Survey. Their reports aren't as sensational as you'll see on TV, but the probability of exaggeration is a lot lower.

The camera is just fine. It doesn't work all that well at night or in clouds, so please don't write to tell us about the black or the gray.

Seattle Style and Grace

The recent earthquake and tsunami in Southeast Asia has already taken an estimated hundred thousand lives. An equal number could succumb to disease and exposure in the aftermath. It is the largest natural disaster in many decades and perhaps the most widespread in history. The editors hope you'll help. During January, we'll contribute one-fifth of all advertising revenue received to the Red Cross effort in the area. We encourage you to make a personal contribution as well. Some of the international agencies working on the problem are:

American Red Cross: Home - Program
UNICEF: Home - Program
World Vision: Home - Program
